Reiter‑Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Rappe, wieh're nicht so laut
hin durch die stille Nacht!
Es steht der Feind uns allzu nah'
und hält gar scharfe Wacht.
Hab' Acht!

Ha, regt sich's dort am Wasser nicht
und schleicht vorüber sacht?
Ist's nur der Wind im Weidebusch
und täuschet mich die Nacht?
Habt Acht!

Denkt wohl mein trautes Lieb an mich,
wen es vom Schlaf erwacht?
Säh'st du mich hier, mein liebes Kind,
du schliefst nicht diese Nacht.

War das nicht dort ein Pulverblitz?
Ha, der Reveill-Schuss kracht!
Ha, bäume dich, mein Rappe nicht,
der Morgen ist erwacht.
Zur Schlacht!
