Gesang an den Tod
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du, der allgerechte Gleicher
kleinlich großer Unterschiede,
sei gefeiert mir im Liede,
Tod, Erlöser, gnadenreicher!
Malt die Fantasie den Bängsten
dich mit hocherhon'ner Hippe
als ein häßliches Gerippe
unter tausend feigen Ängsten,
so erkennen freie Geister
ehrend deine hohe Sendung.
Denn zu höherer Vollendung
führst du sie, Erlöser, Meister.
