by Ernst Ferdinand August (1795 - 1870)

Mailied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lieblich im Sonnenstrahl
Glänzet Gebirg' und Thal,
Blüthenduft überall,
Das ist der Mai.

Fröhliche Sängerfahrt
Hat sich die Lust bewahrt,
Wandelt nach alter Art
Lustig und frei.

Bienchen am Zweige schwirrt,
Vöglein im Nest girrt,
Fröschlein quakt, Alpenhirt
Bläst die Schalmei.

Und wo ein Lied erschallt,
Tönet ein zweites bald,
Singet der ganze Wald:
Das ist der Mai.
