Fallende Blätter
Language: German (Deutsch)
Früher Herbst. Die Blätter fallen.
Still, mein Herz, und lausche du!
Die ins Dasein sich verirrten
Und im Welken sich entwirrten:
Wie sie alle niedergleiten.
Doch es ist kein Schmerzbereiten,
Ist ein Fliehn in letzten Zeiten,
Rückkehr tief in ewige Ruh.

Confirmed with Karl Stamm, Dichtungen: Gesamtausgabe, erster Band, Zürich: Rascher & Cie., 1920, page 119. Appears in Wanderung und Lied.
