by Julius (Ernst Wilhelm) Stinde (1841 - 1905)

Vor der Kirche
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ihr Heiligen am Kirchenthor
Aus wettergrauem Stein,
Mit frischen Kränzen angethan,
Schaut nicht so grämlich drein.

Die Glöcken läuten Freude laut
Durch blüh'nde Frühlingszeit.
Es gibt die allerschönste Braut
Der klare Tag Geleit.

Und wie aus frommer Dämmerung
Der Orgelklang sie grüßt,
Seht wie der Sonne frohster Strahl
Das Lockenhaupt ihr küßt.

Ihr Heiligen am Kirchenthor,
Alt, gram und grau aus Stein,
Wie lächelt ihr so mildiglich
Der Braut im Heil'genschein.
