by Edward Bernard Koster (1861 - 1937)

Maannacht
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Over de tuinen schijnt de maan;
‘k hoor een zucht door de boomen gaan.
Eenzaam ligt de breede laan in den kalmen nacht.
Twijgen trillen in’t blauwwit licht,
Hooge kruinen verdringen zich dicht,
Achter ‘t lange vergezicht van der lane pracht.
Stil verdroom ik den milden tijd,
Nu de maan haar zegen spreidt,
Nu het land, door haar gewijd,
Rustig slaapt, en wacht
