Græd ei!
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Græd ei, naar Du er stædt i Nød,
naar Du maa sukke for dit Brød!
Græd ei, men slaa til Gud din Lid;
thi stakket er Din Prøvetid!

Græd ei, naar Skæbnens tunge Haand,
Dig fængsler her i Sygdoms Baand!
Græd ei; thi snart har Støvet Fred,
Hos Gud har Aanden Salighed!

Græd ei, naar den, som Du tilbad,
Dig lønner med Foragt og Had!
Græd ei; thi Du en Trøst du veed;
Hos Gud boer Evig Kjærlighed.

Græd ei, naar Alt forlader dig,
naar alt om Dig er List og Svig!
Græd ei, for Vennens brudte Eed;
hos Gud kun er Bestandighed!

Græd ei, når dem du mest har kjær man
til det mørke Kammer bær.
Græd ei for dem, som udgrædt har;
Bag Graven smiler Himlen klar!
Saa tør da Taaren af Din kind,
og haab til Gud med barnligt Sind!
Hav met dig selv og Herren Fred!
Alt Andet er Daarlighed.
