Julesang
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Himlen mørkner stor og stum,
tændt er Julens Kjærte;
Stjernen i det høje Rum
skælver som mit Hjerte.
Dagens Larm er svundet hen,
hellig blev det søgne,
Juletræet staar igen
tændt i Barneøjne.

Fjerne Sang fra Klokkemalm
faar os til at lytte,
om et Barn paa Krybbehalm
lagt i ussel Hytte.
Alle Jordens Klokkeklemt
sagte jeg fornemmer,
thi mit Sind er julestemt,
fyldt af Barnestemmer.

Du, der selv var Barn engang,
hør den frie Glæde!
Vær i deres Julesang
jublende tilstede.
Er end Verden barsk og slem,
mørk paa alle Veje,
Stjernens Lys fra Bethlehem
fi k hvert Barn i Eje.

Fra den høje Himmelbund
Stjerneskaren skinner.
Julenat er blidest Stund
for de dyre Minder.
Det, som svandt bag Tid og Muld
bort fra Jordens Veje,
skal som Julemorgens Guld
vi for evigt eje.
