by Alfonsina Storni (1892 - 1938)

Crepúsculo
Language: Spanish (Español)
El mar inmóvil,
desprendido de sus mandíbulas,
exhala un alma nueva.

No tiene fondo,
buques hundidos,
almas, abrazadas
a sus algas.

Recién nacido,
la cara de Dios,
pálida,
lo mira.

Buques no lo escribieron.
Hombres no lo descifraron.
Peces no lo pudrieron.

Baja a buscarlo
el sol,
precipitándose en llamas
entre bosques violáceos,
y al tocarle la frente
abre puertas de oro
que calan —túneles—
espacios desconocidos.

Escalinatas lentas
descienden al agua
y llegan, desvanecidas,
a mis pies.

Por ellas
ascenderé
un día
hasta internarme
más allá del horizonte.

Paredes de agua
me harán cortejo
en la tarde
resplandeciente.
