by Ricarda Octavia Huch (1864 - 1947)

Wie zwei Tote, die um Liebe starben
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie zwei Tote, die um Liebe starben,
-- Duftend Feuer schmilzt sie nun zusammen --
Ruhn wir still, umblaut von Frühlingsflammen,
Satt in Wonne nach der Trennung Darben.

Hoch im Himmel mit geblähten Säumen
Drehn die Stunden sich in Sturmestänzen,
Ihre blanken Sohlen sehn wir glänzen,
Doch kein Ton fällt aus so fernen Räumen.

Aber langsam sinken die vergangnen
Tage, die das Herz in Qual belauschte,
Schwer hinunter in verhüllte Tiefen,

Wie wenn unterirdisch Goldestriefen
In des Felsens hohle Becken rauschte,
Jenseit von uns ewig dicht Umfangnen.
