by Caroline Sophie Bernhardine Auguste Harnier (1826 - 1855), as Auguste Linden

Immer dasselbe!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es wogt wie steigende Wellen
im Herzen hin,
und sehnende Wünsche schwellen
den kranken Sinn.

Es pocht mit ängstlichen Schlägen
das arme Herz,
es möchte zur Ruhe sich legen
mit seinem Schmerz.

Es kennt kein ander' Verlangen,
als Frieden still,
wer ist's, der dem Herz, dem bangen,
ihn wehren will?

Längst hat es ja dem entsaget,
was es gewollt,
es hat nicht einmal geklaget,
wie es gesollt.

Und doch kann es Ruh' nicht finden,
die ihm gebricht;
ein Herz kann nur überwinden,
vergessen nicht!
