by Friedrich Heinrich Oser (1820 - 1891)

Kurz und rund!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn so prächtig blüht der Mai,
Ei! wer kann es lassen,
Flugs in einen Jubelschrei
Seine Pracht zu fassen!

  Finkenschlag ist kurz und rund,
Doch des Waldes Düfte,
Spürt ihr draus und mit im Bund
Alle Frühlingslüfte!

Kurz drum, wie's der Wald befahl,
Sei dem Lenz gesungen,
Rund, als wär vom Berg in's Thal
Jede Stimm' erklungen!

Confirmed with Neue Lieder von Friedrich Oser (1874-1884), Basel: Verlag von M. Bernheim, 1885, page 24.
