Ich bin der Böttcher, ich binde das Fass,
   rododum, rundum,
wohl wird mir vom Binden die Stirne nass,
   rododum, rundum,
doch hurtig und munter die Reife herum,
und dann mit dem Hammer gewandelt rundum,
   rododum, rundum.

Ich bin der Böttcher, ich binde das Fass,

so fröhlich und flink, als wär' es nur Spaß,
   rododum, rundum,
und mach' ich dabei auch den Rücken oft krumm,
so ist es doch lustig zu wandeln rundum,

Ich bin der Böttcher, ich binde das Fass,
   rododum, rundum,
und würd' ich ein Prinz, was hülfe mir das?
   Rododum, rundum!
Ich wäre nicht besser, nicht froher darum,
