by Agnes Kayser-Langerhannß (1818 - 1902)

Im Gebet
Language: German (Deutsch)
Sind wir auch weit geschieden,
Ich weiß, du denkest mein,
Du schließest in dein Beten
Auch meine Seele ein.

Und fühl' ich mich verlassen,
Vereinsamt, ohne Ruh,
Strömt mir, was du erbeten,
Als Trost vom Himmel zu.

Ein Wort aus frommem Herzen,
Das hört der Vater gern,
Drum will ich still auch beten
Für dich zu Gott dem Herrn.

Confirmed with Agnes Kayser-Langerhannss, Gedichte. Dritte verbesserte und durch neue Gedichte ergänzte Auflage, Dresden: E. Pierson, 1877, page 50. Appears in Lyrische Gedichte.
