by Nikolaus Lenau (1802 - 1850)

Ohne Wunsch
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ja, mich rührt dein Angesicht,
Und dein Herz, das liebevolle,
Aber Mädchen, glaube nicht,
Daß ich dich besitzen wolle.

Kamst mir durch die Seele wie
Ein süßholdes Lied gedrungen,
Aber wie die Melodie,
Mußt du wieder sein verklungen.

Meine Freuden starben mir
In der Brust, bestürmt, gespalten,
An den Bahren könnten wir
Nur mit Grauen Hochzeit halten.

Und ein trüber Lebensgang
Führte mich an steile Ränder,
Kind, mir würde um dich bang,
Flieh, es krachen die Geländer!
