Was ich liebe
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du fragst mich, was ich liebe? Kind --
Das sagt sich leicht und schwer.
Ich lieb' den milden Frühlingswind
Und auch das wilde Meer.

Ich lieb' der Sonne hellen Schein,
Des Mondes Silberlicht;
Der Vöglein Lied im schatt'gen Hain,
Das süß zum Herzen spricht.

Den Strahl der Sterne liebe ich
Am blauen Himmelszelt;
Vor Allem aber lieb' ich dich,
Mehr als die ganze Welt.

Confirmed with Neue Berliner Musik-Zeitung, 27. Jahrgang, no. 30, Berlin: Ed. Bote und Gustav Bock, 1873. Appears in Poesie-Blätter: Beilage der neuen Berliner Musik-Zeitung, erster Jahrgang, no. 11, page 41.
