by Johann Hinrich Otto Meyer (1829 - 1904), as Paul Julius Immergrün

Frühlingsnacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Frühlingsnacht,
Nahst so stille, nahst so sacht,
Gottes Geist berührt die Felder
Und sein Odem weht durch Wälder,
Sinnend geh' ich durch den Fluren,
Lauschend seines Schaffens Spuren,

Frühlingsnacht,
Wunderbar ist deine Pracht!
Dort der Sterne Millionen,
Die ob meinem Haupte thronen,
Blumen hier zu meinen Füssen,
Die den ernsten Wand'rer grüssen.

Frühlingsnacht,
Lass mich kosten deine Pracht!
Lass in deinen stillen Räumen
Wandelnd meine Seele träumen,
Ob sie wohl auf deinen Bahnen
Mag' den ew'gen Frühling ahnen.

Frühlingsnacht,
Hab' das Herz dir aufgemacht!
Lass an deine Brust mich sinken,
Satt in deiner Wonne trinken!
Fülle mich mit jungem Leben,
Gib' mir Kraft zu neuem Streben!
