Wenn ich in den Maientagen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn ich in den Maientagen
Oftmals nach dem Himmel schau',
Glaubt mein Auge Gott zu sehen, --
Himmel, wie bist du so blau!

Blick' ich auf die Erde nieder,
Windet aus dem Morganthau
Sich das Veilchen, liebeathmend; --
Veilchen, wie bist du so blau!

Aber wenn ich nach dem Himmel
Blicke, flieht des Veilchens Blau,
Und so flieht des Himmels Bläue,
Wenn ich auf die Blumen schau'.

Doch wenn in dem Anblick deiner
Augen ich versunken bin,
Seh' ich Alles, Veilchen, Himmel,
Und den lieben Gott darin.
