Smil
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Dit Smil er stille,
dit Smil er tungt,
-- hvad er det, du mindes, Veninde?
Fødes der Tanker, som hvirvle omkring?
drømmer du Drømme, der flyve i Ring,
komme og svinde?
Drømme om noget, du aldrig saa',
anende hist i det fjærneste Blaa
det, som din Fremtid har inde ...?
Dit Smil er stille
dit Smil er tungt, --
du smiler saa sygt mig i Møde.
Sig, om du sørger utrøsteligt tungt?
hvad var det, som -- skønt det var levende ungt --
dømtes til Døde?
Har Sorgen ej Ord og Smilet ej Grund, --
det tvinger sig frem saa henaandet kun
paa Læbernes blødende Røde? ...
Dit Smil er stille,
dit Smil er tungt,
-- hvad er det, du mindes, Veninde?
Hvorfor saa stille, skønt end saa ung --
som én, hvem en Sorg utrøstelig tung
ligger paa Sinde?..
Drømmer du om, hvad aldrig du saa',
-- uden at haabe ... kun tvivlende paa,
hvad Lykke din Fremtid har inde?
