Dream voices
Language: English
I dream, alone, in the twilight,
Watching the shadows play,
A teardrop falls
As my heart recalls
Dear ones long passed away.
When, over the hush of twilight,
Over the wind's low sigh,
Sweet and clear
A song I hear,
Voices from years gone by!
Hearts that have loved can ne'er be parted,
Fear not thy dear ones can forget;
Still we are near thee, tender-hearted,
Through joy and sorrow, loving yet!

The darkness of night has fallen,
I list for the song in vain;
It passed away
With the dying day,
But the light and the joy remain;
For in my heart is a singing,
Tender and sweet and low,
A song of love
From the land above,
Voices I used to know:
Hearts that have loved etc.
