Die Lerchen sie steigen aus thauigem Feld,
Es bricht nun das Schweigen die schaffende Welt.
Hell tönen die Glocken von waldiger Höh',
Sie wecken und locken das Echo am See. 

Nun ziehen wir wieder: die Ferne sie ruft,
Der Wald tönet Lieder, die Flur streuet Duft.
Es treibt in die Weite nun Sehnsucht uns fort:
Sei Glück uns Geleite und Friede der Port!

Und trägt uns die Welle der eilenden Zeit  
Zur gastlichen Schwelle nach Ringen und Streit;
Dann führe mit Wonne Erinn'rung zurück:
O Lenz, deine Sonne!   o Wandern, dein Glück!
