2. Love's Gift
 (Sung text)

Language: English
Love, could I pluck from the sky
All the shining stars on high
I would make a crown for Thee
Which should sparkle wondrously

Could I reek the ocean's deep
Where the coral forests sleep
From the fairest sprays beneath
I could make for thee a wreath

But, alas! no gifts can I
Capture from the sea and sky
Bid my idle dreams depart
I can only give my heart
