Ich weiß nicht, wie es gekommen,
Wie's zugegangen ist,
Daß Du so lieb mir geworden,
Daß Du mein Alles bist.

Ich habe [schon oft gesungen]1,
[Gegrübelt]2 her und hin,
Woher [doch das]3 gekommen,
Daß ich so lieb Dir bin.

Ich glaube, das hat gesponnen
Die Lieb' mit ihrer List -
Drum will ich weiter nicht forschen;
Mir g'nügt, daß es so ist.
