Wie grimm du magst die Flügel schlagen,
O Sturm, ich achte dein nicht viel.
Die schweren Tropfen, wie sie jagen!
Ich schöpfe dreist frohlockendes Behagen
Aus wildem Plätscherspiel.

Mir ist, als könnt' ich schier gesunden,
Wenn solch ein Tropfen groß und voll
Den Weg in meine Brust gefunden,
Zur Stelle, wo die brennendste der Wunden
Und wo der tiefste Groll.
