Ein schön Madonnenbild.
Der lichte Schein des Goldes
Erglänzt in deinem Haar . . .

O schütz mich immerdar!
 
Ich sinke vor dir nieder
Voll sehnender Begier
Und jedes meiner Lieder
Ist ein Gebet zu dir,
Ein Flehen nur, ein scheues,
Um Rettung aus Gefahr . . .

O schütz mich immerdar.
 
O diese Augen beide
So mild, so fromm, so gut,
Darüber das Geschmeide
Der zarten Wimper ruht,
Sie sind voll lieben Scheines
Das schönste Sternenpaar . . .
