Es glänzte golden die Sonne 
Noch zitternd am Bergesrand, 
Die Abendwölken glühten
Wie Rosen am goldenen Band.

Und drunten rauschten die Wogen
Das wunderbare Lied
Vom Lenz, der über die Berge
Zu allen Herzen zieht.

Da schaut' ich dir ins Auge  
So tief, so licht, so klar,  
Und wußte, daß in zwei Herzen
Der Frühling gezogen war.
