4. Abendruhe  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Die alten Felsen blinken
Im letzten Abendstrahl,
Die Blumenkelche trinken
Den duft'gen Thau im Thal.
Die weißen Nebel steigen
Vom Wiesengrund empor,
Und aus den dunklen Zweigen
Weht feucht der Wind hervor.

Ach! wie die Nacht sich kühlet,
Wird's wärmer in der Brust;
Es ahnt und drängt und wühlet
Im Herzen umbewußt;
Wie Nebel, sich lösend und hebend,
Aufsteigen zu den Höhn,
Möcht' auch die Seele schwebend
Zu lichten Räumen gehn!

  • by Otto Banck (1824 - 1916), "In der Dämmerung"
