2. Warnung  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Vor den [Fenstern]1 laßt euch warnen
Junggesellen weit und breit!
Vor den Netzen, vor den Garnen,
Vor den Mädchen allezeit!

Vor den hellen Rosenblüthen,
Die wo an den Fenstern stehn,
Müßt ihr Herz und Auge hüten,
Schnell und still vorübergehn!

An den Blumenfenstern lauern
Wilde Jägerinnen dort,
Und die Spinnen an den Mauern
Weben Netze immerfort.

Ach! mein armes Herz gefangen
Hält ein solches Fensterlein;
Bei der Rose muß es hangen,
Und ihr Sklave muß es sein!

Text Authorship:

  • by Julius Mosen (1803 - 1867), "Warnung", appears in Gedichte, in Liebe, Wanderschaft, Heimkehr
