Laulua V. A. Koskenniemen runoihin , opus 24

by Yrjö Henrik Kilpinen (1892 - 1959)

1. Kaupungilla sataa  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Vasten kivitystä kadun
soipi syyttäen ja tuomiten
syksysateen ääni iäinen,
saman kertoin sulle tutun sadun,

jonka läpi elämäsi kuulet,
sydämeni, niinkuin kuulet nyt,
kun on päivä yöhön päättynyt,
levolle kun laskevas jo luulet.

Vielä odotatko, sydämeni,
päivän koita jälkeen pilvisään,
onnen armautta elämään
jälkeen kaiken, joka hukkaan meni?

2. On kaikki syksyn tähdet syttyneet  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
On kaikki syksyn tähdet syttyneet.
Taas seison yksin kotitasangolla.
On kedot runsaan sadon kantaneet,
mut mun on autio ja tyhjä olla.

Ma yössä ajattelen itseksein:
niin monet kylvöt täällä tähkään ehti --
miss' on mun vuoteni, mun nuoruutein?
Ma olen syksyn irrallinen lehti.

Maan multa, siemenenä uudestaan
sa minut ota povees versomahan,
sun kesääs kauniimpana kukkimaan,
sun syksyys kypsempänä kuolemahan!

3. Syyssonetti  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Nyt sumu harmaa nousee korven soissa,
se seudun vaippahansa verhoaa,
on kaikki kelmeätä, harmajaa
ja päivä on jo kauan piillyt poissa.

Nyt sydän värjyy syksyn unelmoissa,
nyt kaikki kuolemasta muistuttaa,
se maille mahtiansa julistaa
nyt synkän syksyn voittolauleloissa.

Nyt tunnen mit' en tuntenut ma ennen:
sun oma suvesikin aikain mennen
se katoo, katoo eikä palaja,

sun nuoret tuntehesi tuhkaks palaa
ja varkaan askelin hän saapuu salaa
yön, syksyn herra, harmaa kuolema.

4. Yksin  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Taivas välkkyväisin jalokivin
omaa ylhäisyyttään vartioi.
Loiste väsyneiden lyhtyin rivin
valaista ei sieluani voi.

Syvään tunne, pohjaan asti tunne
katkeruutta kovaa kohtalon,
katso herkeemättä yöhön, kunne
korkein totuus kätkettynä on!

5. Ikarus  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Ah, Ikarus sa oot, et enempää!
Sun allas ammottavat aavat syvät.
Kun siipiesi iskut heikentyvät,
sun nielee ensi aalto vaahtopää.

Et untes rantaa ikinä sa nää,
sun silmäs auringossa häikäistyvät.
Mut turhat ystäväin on neuvot hyvät,
kun kaikki veren kaiho kiidättää.

Sa uskalikko unten ulappain,
sa tuudittama tuulien ja meren,
sun tappiosi todistaja vain

on taivas, joka hautas tahdittaa.
Niin anna kantaa, kiidätellä veren!
Ah, Ikarus sa oot, et vähempää!
