3. Abschied  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn man die Hand zum [Abschied]1 [gibt]2,
Dann fühlt man wol mit leisem Beben,
Wie treu und innig man geliebt
Mit ganzer Seele, ganzem Leben.

Dann zittert durch das Herz ein Weh,
Wie man vordem es kaum empfunden,
Als ob das Glück zu Ende geh'
Mit diesen schmerzensreichen Stunden.

Die Sonne der Vergangenheit
Blitzt noch einmal durch Scheidetränen,
Und alle Lieb' nnd alles Leid
Flammt auf in wunderbarem Sehnen.

Die Ferne ligt in Sonnenpracht,
Der Frühling geht auf allen Wegen;
Ich aber zieh' in dunkler Nacht
Dem neuen Morgenrot entgegen.

Text Authorship:

  • by Julius Rodenberg (1831 - 1914), "Scheiden", appears in Lieder, in Wanderlieder, in Wesertal, first published 1862
