Les lacs, dans leurs paumes
  rondes noient le visage du Ciel :

J'ai tourné la sphère
  pour observer le Ciel.

Les lacs, frappés d'échos
  fraternels en nombre douze :

J'ai fondu les douze cloches
  qui fixent les tons musicaux.

Lac mouvant, firmament liquide
  à l'envers, cloche musicale,

Que l'homme recevant mes mesures retentisse
  à son tour sous le puissant Souverain-Ciel.

Pour cela j'ai nommé l'hymne 
  de mon règne : les Lacs.
