1. La fleur du souvenir  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: French (Français)
On m'a conté qu'en Helvétie,
Louise, une fleur à la main,
Avec Lisbeth, sa douce amie,
Un jour, s'était mise en chemin :
« Bon ermite, assis sur la pierre,
Disait-elle, dans ta prière
    Souviens-toi
      De moi !»

Advint qu'en sa route orageuse
Je ne sais quel pressentiment
Troubla la belle voyageuse,
Qui soupira profondément :
«Hélas ! dit-elle à son amie,
Avant toi si je perds la vie,
    Souviens-toi
      De moi !»

Soudain l'avalanche sauvage
Roule et l'entraîne dans son sein.
Jetant alors sur le rivage
La fleur qu'elle tenait en main :
« Adieu, dit-elle, mon amie ;
Garde bien cette fleur chérie ;
    Souviens-toi
      De moi !»

Lisbeth veut suivre son amie :
Au trépas elle veut courir ;
Mais on la retient à la vie :
Vivre, ah ! pour elle c'est mourir.
Elle garda la fleur fidèle,
Et, depuis, cette fleur s'appelle
    Souviens-toi
      De moi !
