Dew-Drops on a Lotus Leaf: 3 Summer

Song Cycle by Florence Marga Richter (1926 - 2020)

1. The spring has passed
 (Sung text)

Language: English
How deep and motionless is the solitude of my hut!
The spring has passed with quiet steps;
And this long while
No living hand has moved the bar of my gate.
Only the tall-plumed bamboos shake the silence
As they stretch their arms, with the gathering weeds, about my door.
