Det är middag. De betande fåren, kullriga molnskockar lika,
vandrar långsamt på markerna,
ligger snart som stenrös orörliga.
Rensad säd är i bingarna, 
ryker ej mer av flitiga käppars pisk på solheta hällar.
Det är middag, och rökarna
börjar stiga från offrandets altar.
