Bali's leading dancer slain.
Bali's most famous dancer, twenty-eight years old
Sam-Pih has been murdered on that one-time paradise Isle,
letters from Indonesia reported today.
Sam-Pih headed the noted Balinese dancing troupe
which scored successes in london and the United States in nineteen fifty-two.
Impressario John Coast of London,
who brought the Balinese dancers and a gamelan orchestra
to the outside world for the first time in a generation,
for the first time, impressario John Coast of...
received news Sam-Pih had been strangled
and his body found floating in the Lauh river
which flows by his village of Sayan in southeast Bali.

Trapeze star rescued in air St. Louis April Thirtieth.
A twenty-eight-year-old woman trapeze-performer
suffered a sudden paralysis of her left arm,
while doing an act seventy-five feet in the air,
last night, but was saved by her husband before she could fall.
The audience of six-thousand five hundred persons
watched the rescue of Mrs. Eileen Johansen.
Mrs. Johansen was with her husband in the arena dome when she shouted,
"My arm is paralyzed!"
Her husband, who drives a motorcycle in a large hoop,
fastened a rope to her before she could fall.
She was lowered to the ground.

Language: English
The weather picture shows almost no motion this morning.
The storm which gave heavy rain across Ontario and western Québec
has become stationary over the eastern portion of the province.
Little change in position is expected,
but the disturbance will continue to weaken
and only cloudy skies without rain are expected Thursday.
Meanwhile Ontario and western Québec can expect
another sunny day with gradually rising temperatures.
Montréal, Ottawa, Laurentians: mainly sunny
but with occasional afternoon cloudiness today and Thursday;
a little warmer; light winds.
Low tonight and high Thursday at Montréal thirty-six and fifty-five,
Ottawa thirty and fifty-five, Ste. Agathe thirti sic and fifti-five. sic
