Krönt noch die Glut, doch es sinkt, düst'rer allmählich, nun
Auch ihr Bild zu den Schatten.

Dort ach, fern in der Nacht, dort wo des Himmels Licht
Hinschwand unter den Wolken,
Dort dich wieder zu sehn, träumt' ich, und war dir nah -
Nah im Geiste, da warf mir
