by Georg Christian Dieffenbach (1822 - 1901)

Der gute Hirte
Language: German (Deutsch)
  Mein Schäflein läßt sich leiten
An einem rothen Band,
Es läßt sich gerne weiden
Von meiner schwachen Hand.

  Ein Schäflein bin ich worden,
Hab' einen Hirten gut,
Der nimmt mich aller Orten
In seine treue Hut.

  Er will mich immer leiten
An seiner Liebe Band,
Und mild und freundlich weiden
Mit seiner starken Hand.

  Er kennt die beste Wiese,
Wo hell ein Brünnlein rinnt,
Im goldnen Paradiese,
Wo seine Schäflein sind.

  Dorthin mein Hirt mich leitet;
Und wißt ihr, wer es ist,
Der mich so lieblich weidet?--
Er heißt: Herr Jesus Christ.
