Schifferlied

Es gleitet mein Schifflein durch Wellen und Wind, 
Es schwebet so sicher, es fährt so geschwind, 
Und schaukelt und wiegt sich so sanft in der Fluth; 
Drum hab' ich's so gerne und bin ihm so gut.  

Durch Wogen und Klippen trägt treu es mich fort, 
Geleitet mich schützend zum ruhigen Port; 
Gelagert in seinem mich bergenden Schoos, 
Beneide ich nicht der Gewaltigen Loos.
