by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798 - 1874)

Mein Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Lied, aus Rosenlippen leben
Sollst du mit Gruß und Kuß vereint,
Sollst wie der Ostwind kosend weben,
Sobald die Rosenzeit erscheint!

Sollst mit den Nachtigallen schweben
In Waldesnacht und Mondenschein,
Und mit der Lerche dich erheben
Ins blaue Himmelszelt hinein!

Mein Lied, zum Tröste mir gegeben,
Sollst du ein Freudenbote sein!
Es sei dein schönstes Ziel und Streben,
Dich Andrer Leid und Freude weih'n!
