Die Wogen sprüh'n empor, die weißen,
Der See heult und der Nordwind brüllt.
Sturm, willst du mir vom Herzen reißen
Auch noch das Lied, das mich erfüllt?

Ich geb' dir's nicht, - ich press' die Arme
Um dies gequälte, volle Herz,
