O linder Frühwind, Schein der Sonne,
Wie füllt ihr heut mir Herz und Sinn!
Getaucht in euch empfind' ich ganz die Wonne,
Das holde Wunder, daß ich bin.

Es schwebt mein Geist in freudigem Genügen,
Gelöst von jeder Mühe, jedem Zwang;
Er atmet nur in leisen Zügen,
Allein sein Atmen wird Gesang.

Und wie ein kühles Feuer im Gemüte
Mir spielend Ruhn und Tun in eins verklärt,
Fühl' ich entzückt: dies ist des Lebens Blüte,
Und preise den, der mir auch das beschert.
