So einsam ist es um mich her, So friedlich und so still, Wenn nicht das Leid im Herzen wär', Das nimmer schweigen will. Die Vöglein singen dort und hier, Im Wipfel lind es bebt, Es steht ein fernes Grab vor mir -- Ist's wahr, daß ich's erlebt? Zwei Falter fliegen ab und zu, Wo eine Knospe sprang: So schwärmten wir einst, ich und du, Den grünen Wald entlang.
