Ich hab' dein Bild im Traum gesehn

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich hab' dein Bild im Traum gesehn,
Es war so mild, so engelschön;
Dein Auge sah mich fragend an

In deinen Armen träumend lag,
Da fühlt' ich es mit ganzer Lust,
Was mich bewegt in tiefster Brust:

Bardtenschlager, no date given (1890's). pages 146 - 147, unattributed; also confirmed with Der Troubadour, ein Charakterbild. Published in Der Salon für Literatur, Kunst und Gesellschaft, erster Band, ed. by Dr. Franz Hirsch, Leipzig: A. H. Payne, 1882, page 438, attributed to Heinrich Köhler, but including only the first and third stanzas, which raises the possibility that the second stanza is not by Köhler.
