Das Lüftchen flattert in's Rosenbett

Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Lüftchen flattert in's Rosenbett
Und faltet die Flügel zum Schlafen,
Die Nachtigall schwelgt im Liebesduett
Und lockt zum beglückenden Hafen.
Der Geist der Liebe durchwandelt sacht
Die Felder im Abendgolde --
Es kommt die Nacht, die süße Nacht,
O gönne die Nacht mir, du Holde!

Der Himmel blaut durchsichtig und hehr,
Es herrscht ein heiliges Schweigen,
Ich höre nur glühende Seufzer schwer
Aus einsamen Herzen steigen.
Der Geist der Liebe durchwandelt sacht
Die Felder im Abendgolde --
Es kommt die Nacht, die süße Nacht,
O gönne die Nacht mir, du Holde!
