A spring song
(Sung text for setting by M. Lang)
 Matches original text
Language: English
I buried a hope there long ago,
And I walked by the grave to-day,
The flowers were blooming, the birds were singing,
  My sorrow had passed away.

O dear old time with your crooning rhyme,
And your breast for our passionate pain,
You take them all, our hopes as they fall,
And change them to flowers again.

Composition:

Set to music by Margaret Ruthven Lang (1867 - 1972), "A spring song", published 1890 [ voice and piano ], Schmidt

Text Authorship:
