Wenn mich die Abendluft umscherzt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Wenn mich die Abendluft umscherzt,
Nach des Tages schwüler Pein,
Wie leicht ist Wehmuth nicht [verschmerzt]1
Bei der Sterne Silberschein.

Es drängen sich der Bilder viel,
Aus des Herzens tiefem Grund,
[Wohl]2 manches ist nur Kinder-Spiel,
Drängt sich verwirrt und bunt.

Was dem Gefühl sich kundgethan,
Bleibt mit meiner Sehnsucht wach,
Führt liebend mich auf irrd'scher [sic] Bahn
Hallt in der Erinn'rung nach.
