Folkevise II
 (Sung text for setting by E. Hartmann)
 Matches original text
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Paa Søndag Aften kommer hun
Til Dandsen ganske vist;
Da skal en kort, men salig Stund
Erstatte mangen trist.
Er Ugens Slid end nok saa slemt,
Og fulgt af Vrøvl og Had,
Paa Søndag Aften Alt er glemt,
Og jeg er kisteglad.

Vor By har kjønne Piger nok,
Som gjerne dandse vil;
Men der er i den hele Flok
Kun een, min Hu staaer til.
De Andre ved, de kjønne er,
Hun ene veed det ei;
Paa Søndag Aften vælges der,
Og hende vælger jeg.

Saa flyve vi med frydfuldt Sind
Afsted i Dandsens Ring;
Jeg seer i hendes Øine ind,
Men ellers Ingenting.
De Andres Skjemt mig rører ei,
Jeg ændser ei, de leer;
Paa Søndag Aften dandser jeg
Bestemt med ingen Fleer.

Og naar saa Dandsen er forbi,
Vi skye de Andres Fjed
Og følges ad en ensom Sti
Langs Mølledammens Bred;
Kun Himlens Stjerner paa os see,
Og Bølgen lytter stil;
Paa Søndag Aften - ja maaskee!
Hvis jeg faaer Mod dertil.
