Hearing my little Karen sing is different from anything that’s happened yet to me. There is no sound that floats on air with such delight in being there as her child ecstasy. I can’t hope that the songs I write will ever be so fresh and bright as yours, my sweetest child. But I believe that they shall stem from roots far deeper since on them your little songs have smiled.
