There are the dearest little birds, Who sing, outside my open door, The sweetest songs you ever heard, While sunbeams dance upon the floor. I sit and listen, O, so still, To ev'ry song they sing; I would not miss a note or trill - Such joy to me they bring. The flowers peep above the ground To hear the lovely song, And all the leaves of trees around Applaud them, loud and long! And then I wonder, can it be, These happy songs to Love belong? They bring such peace of mind to me; I wonder, does God hear their song?
