All aboard, my baby, For the land of dreams, All the little slumber-boats Are paddling in the streams. Now the twinkling star-lamps Light the dusky way To lead my baby safely From out the tired day. 'Way up in the tree-top Birdies are asleep, Nesting close to mother-bird: I can hear them peep. I think, a little dream-cloud, As it passed them by, Dropped a tiny message From out the fleecy sky. Humming birds will fan you With their whirring wing, And little silver ripples Your lullaby will sing. All aboard, my baby, For the land of dreams, Now the little shadow-swans Are sailing in the streams. They will take my baby On their wings of light Into sunny gardens, Where all is fair and bright.
